The prenatal class will focus on opening and releasing within the body. During pregnancy the body is soft and supple due to the hormonal and uterine/fetal growth influences.
In the postpartum classes we
will work on closing and toning the body after the birth. Mothers should
come with their babies.
See below for more detailed
information on each class:

Saskia has taught prenatal yoga since 2005. Her classes offer a unique
blend of yoga asana (yoga postures), restorative yoga and working with a
stability ball, all of these aspects are worked into class to help the
prenatal mother prepare for labor and the birth of her child. Postpartum Fitness and Rehabilitation Courses Studio OM, now offers a postpartum program for mothers with their babies from birth to 7 months, one class a week with recommended exercises and practice periods to do at home. Times: Call Saskia at 339-219-3041 for information and reservations. Fees: Optimum period of the course is from birth to seven months. For most mothers, the most economic answer is to purchase classes in blocks of 4 or 8 (see fee schedule). Post partum exercises are one of the most important areas of women’s health today. If left to the traditional six weeks after birth without any rehab, a post partum body is set up for problems later in life. It is wise to take this body and restore its function as soon as possible. Exercises that have been taught in the prenatal class can be practiced within hours of birth. The postpartum fitness program is a gentle, safe, fun, yet challenging way to bring the postpartum body back into shape. The classes made up of yoga asana's (yoga postures) and are done on stability balls to create strength and stamina for this special population. In the postpartum rehabilitation program we will work on closing and toning the body after the birth. These exercises will stabilize and strengthen the body. We are not looking to lose weight and returning to running or aerobic routine. These will come later when the body is able to deal with the impact. For now, no impact on the pelvic floor and joints is our main aim. If this time is used correctly, you will emerge with a body that is stronger, more stable and better aligned than before pregnancy. What more could you ask for? Before resuming any exercise program we need to rehabilitate three major areas post partum. These are the pelvic floor, the abdominal muscles and the spine, basically what is known as the core. These areas need to be strengthened and stabilized. Cesarean births may also participate in this program with a doctor’s approval.
