CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Rusty Hinges (or Gentle Yoga) class
This class for those of you who are new to or have been away from yoga for awhile, or perhaps have gone through an injury and are looking to ease you way back into practice.
As our bodies age we recognize that the same habitual patterns and behaviors are no longer serving us well. Through this class we will re-train our bodies and our minds to gently challenge our limitations and cultivate new ways of living in our magnificent bodies more fully and respectfully. I invite you to join me on this journey of healing and self discovery.

Mindful Vinyasa
This is a mixed level class.
The class starts as we find our breath and center into our bodies. We then move into a steady flow of Sun Salutations to warm, soften and open the body.
The class will be guided through a sequence of moves, in which we will hold the asanas (poses). When called for, we will break down of one or two of the asanas for a deeper experience of the pose(s). As ever we finish the class with savasana, to fully allow the body, mind and emotions to settle and relax.

The Sun Salutations sequence is a fairly challenging series however with the use of props and with Saskia's guidance through modifications, beginners and intermediates alike can enjoy this class.

Yoga for All

Saskia teaches a multi level yoga class, to new students and seasoned yogis alike. From those who have been away from yoga for a while, or perhaps have gone through an injury and are looking to ease your way back into practice, as well as to students who are familiar with yoga and have a consistent practice.
When it is called for in class, we will break down one or two of the asanas (poses) for a deeper experience of the pose(s). As ever, we finish the class with savasana, to fully allow the body, mind and emotions to settle and relax.

Meditation
Meditation is a practice that has been around for millennia, it is beneficial for stress reduction, it improves health, it strengthens the thought current and clarifies ideas as it strips away the layers of false identity that mask ones true Self from shining through.
In this class, we will be using the breath as a tool to draw our senses inwards as we begin to practice being still and in silence.

Meditation is a practice; it is something we build upon in time, it gently guides us to cultivate patience and resilience within the hectic pace of our lives.

Restorative Yoga

You will be taught postures in which you can truly relax and recharge your depleting energy, with the use of yoga poses, blankets and bolsters.

Classes start with a brief discussion and review. This is done to become aware of and invite the possibility to release that which is no longer of service to you, such as, an old or negative thought pattern, an old or negative belief about yourself or something physical that you are ready to let go of in your life. We open, relax and release all those tensions through restorative postures.

With today's fast pace of life, we rarely slow down enough to restore harmony and balance that all our bodies need. This class is an invitation to do just that. Restorative work is about opening. Opening is about letting go.
