Saskia Bergmans, R.Y.T.

Certified Yoga Teacher and Founder

Saskia Bergmans, Founder and Director of Studio OM LLC, has been teaching and studying yoga since 1997. Saskia is of Dutch nationality, yet she grew up in England. In the mid-nineties she moved to The Netherlands where she first started taking yoga classes, which evolved into a Teacher Training program with Dona Holleman and Orit Sen-Gupta.

Her introduction to Yoga had an international background as she describes:

I started to practice Yoga seriously in 1995 in Amsterdam, pretty much as soon as I settled there. I met Dona Holleman and Orit Sen-Gupta in the spring of 1997, where I started my teacher training course. Between 1997-2000 I went to Northern Italy (Lake Garda) several times to visit Dona and in 1998 I studied with Orit in Israel.

In Boston, MA, Saskia completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2004 and her 500 hours in 2007, with Kim Valeri, Founder and Director of Yogaspirit Studios. Saskia continues to study and mentor with Kim Valeri and she teaches in the style of the Yogaspirit lineage. Yogaspirit is a healing based system of yoga and this is where Saskia continues to develop her healing skills under the guidance of Kim Valeri. Saskia teaches yoga in various locations in and around Boston and the North Shore.

Saskia’s style of teaching is centering and mindful, with precision and grace she guides her students through class catering and allowing for modification of the poses where ever necessary. She creates a safe and compassionate environment for her students to explore and discover their own path to yoga. She specializes in prenatal and post partum yoga and is a trained *Doula, though currently awaiting formal certification.

Saskia describes her time with Kim Valeri:

I feel very blessed to be working, teaching and studying with Kim since 2003, she truly is a Master Healer and Teacher.

*(NOTE: The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.)
